CCSAR has been responding to incidents across Connecticut and New England since 1994, working alongside the CT, RI, and MA State Police, the U.S. Coast Guard, numerous local police agencies, and both municipal and volunteer fire departments. The team participated in the J.F. Kennedy Jr. search off Martha’s Vineyard and has served as the designated responding unit for the Rhode Island State Police on successful wilderness and cadaver missions. CCSAR K-9 teams and support personnel deployed to the World Trade Center disaster site, where members assisted with both rescue operations and rubble removal during recovery efforts. The team also responded to the Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina, sending three K-9 teams and two operational support members to aid in the disaster relief effort.
